Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Symantec AntiVirus. A remote user can bypass scanning protection.

If Symantec Tamper Protection is disabled, a remote user can pass certain events to the application to cause the target system to stop on-demand scans.

Impact:   A remote user can bypass the on-demand scanning protection function.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (MR9). Users should also ensure Tamper Protection is enabled.
