Description:   A vulnerability was reported in EMC VPLEX GeoSynchrony. A local user can obtain passwords on the target system.

When a user attemps to login via the NAVISPEHERE graphical user interface (GUI), the system logs the password in plaintext. A local user can obtain passwords.

Systems with the default log level setting are affected.

Systems configured with an external directory server (LDAP/AD) may allow a user to gain unauthorized access to other systems.

Impact:   A local user can obtain passwords on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (5.4 SP1 P3; Advisory ESA-2015-163).

Version 5.5 changes the default log level. However, users of version 5.5 must remove existing affected log files.
