Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xen. A local user can cause denial of service conditions on the host system.

A local user on a stub domain kernel or tool stack outside of Domain0 can trigger a use-after-free memory error in tearing down an HVM guest.

x86 systems are affected.

ARM systems are not affected.

Only systems using stub domains or other forms of disaggregation of control domains for HVM guests are affected.

Mihai Dontu from Bitdefender reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user on a stub domain kernel or tool stack outside of Domain0 can cause the host system to crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (xsa116-4.3-4.2.patch, xsa116.patch; Advisory XSA-116).
