Description:   A vulnerability was reported in ntpq. A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to trigger a stack overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target service.

Apple reported this vulnerability.

On June 25, 2009, Sun reported that Solaris is not affected by this vulnerability [http://blogs.sun.com/security/entry/solaris_not_impacted_by_cve].

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   HP has issued a fix for OpenVMS.
