Advisory |
For third party organizations that issue advisory alerts, you can list recent vulnerabilities reported by that organization.
Category |
To help you easily locate types of products that may be vulnerable, we have assembled similar products into "categories" (such as operating systems and types of applications).
Cause |
The primary cause of the vulnerability (such as authentication errors) is listed to enable you to quickly see what kind of error created the vulnerability.
Impact |
Recent vulnerabilities resulting in a common type of impact (e.g., denial of service) are listed by those types.
Reported By |
Most vulnerability reports contain an e-mail address indicating the address from which the vulnerability report was apparently sent. This address may or may not be the same as individual assigned "credit" for the discovery.
Target |
The target is the specfic or generic name of the vulnerable object. This is usually the product's or service's brand name.
Underlying OS |
The underlying operating system (OS) list indicates if there is a vulnerable application or service that runs only on specific operating systems. The underlying OS itself is not vulnerable. Note that this is an optional topic and may not always be assigned.

Vendor |
You may view a listing of recent vulnerabilities for a particular vendor. This includes third party notices as well as vendor-issued bulletins.
