Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in Microsoft Excel. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted Excel file that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a heap overflow in SerAuxErrBar() and execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2012-1885]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

A remote user can create a specially crafted Excel file that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a memory corruption error and execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2012-1886]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

A remote user can create a specially crafted Excel file that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger an invalid length use-after-free and execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2012-1887]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

A remote user can create a specially crafted Excel file that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a stack overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2012-2543]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

Sean Larsson (via iDefense VCP), an anonymous researcher (via iDefense VCP), and an anonymous researcher (via HP TippingPoint's Zero Day Initiative) reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A remote user can create a file that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
