Version(s): krb5-1.6 and later
Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in the Kerberos Key Distribution Center (KDC). A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can send specially crafted data to a target KDC configured with an LDAP back end to cause the target service to become unresponsive [CVE-2011-0281] or crash [CVE-2011-0282].

A remote user can send specially crafted data to a target KDC configured with an arbitrary back end to cause the target service to crash [CVE-2011-0283]. Only version krb5-1.9 is affected.

Kevin Longfellow of Oracle Corporation and Zbysek Mraz of Red Hat each reported two of these vulnerabilities.


Impact:   A remote user can cause the target KDC to become unresponsive or crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued patches.
