Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Symantec Client Security. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system in certain limited cases.

A remote user with the ability to spoof a certain domain can create and serve specially crafted HTML that, when loaded by the target user in the context of that domain, will invoke the 'SYMLTCOM.dll' ActiveX control and trigger a buffer overflow to execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

VUPEN Security reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user with the ability to spoof a certain domain can create HTML that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
