Version(s): IronPort Series C, M and X appliances running AsyncOS versions prior to 6.5.2
|
Description:
A vulnerability was reported in Cisco IronPort. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks.
The AsyncOS Spam Quarantine Login Page does not properly filter HTML code from user-supplied input in the 'referrer' parameter before displaying the input. A remote user can create a specially crafted URL that, when loaded by a target user, will cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code will originate from the Cisco IronPort web interface and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.
IronPort Series C, M and X appliances are affected.
IronPort Series S appliances are not affected.
|
Impact:
A remote user can access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the Cisco IronPort device, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the device, or take actions on the device acting as the target user.
