Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Solaris. A local user can cause denial of service conditions.

A local user can invoke a system call to trigger an integer overflow in aio_suspend(3RT) and cause a kernel panic.

The vendor was notified on September 15, 2008.

Solution:   The vendor has issued the following fixes.

SPARC Platform

* Solaris 8 with patch 117350-59 or later
* Solaris 9 with patch 138577-01 or later
* Solaris 10 with patch 121394-02 or later

x86 Platform

* Solaris 8 with patch 117351-59 or later
* Solaris 9 with patch 138578-01 or later
* Solaris 10 with patch 121395-02 or later

Sun is working on a fix for OpenSolaris.
