Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Invision Power Board. A remote user can inject SQL commands.

The software does not properly validate user-supplied input. A remote user can supply a specially crafted parameter value to trigger a flaw in the check_display_name() function and execute SQL commands on the underlying database.

The vulnerability resides in 'xmlout.php'.

DarkFig reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute SQL commands on the underlying database.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a patch for 2.2.x and 2.3.x, available in the vendor's advisory.
