Description:   A vulnerability was reported in CuteFTP. A remote server can write files to arbitrary locations on the target user's system.

The client software does not properly validate server-supplied filenames in response to the FTP LIST command. A remote server can supply a specially crafted filename in response to the target user's request to download a directory to cause the file to be written to an arbitrary location on the target user's system. Files will be written with the privileges of the target user.

The vendor was notified on May 14, 2008.
