Description:
Several vulnerabilities were reported in Windows Gadgets. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A remote user can create specially crafted contacts that, when imported by the target user, will trigger a validation error in the Contacts Gadget and execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2007-3032]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
A remote user can send a specially crafted RSS feed post to a subscribed target user to trigger a validation error in the Feed Headlines Gadget and execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2007-3033]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user. The vendor was notified on March 21, 2007.
A remote user can create a specially crafted HTML link that, when viewed by the target user via the Weather Gadget, will trigger a validation error in the Weather Gadget and execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2007-3891]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
Aviv Raff of Finjan reported Windows Vista Contacts Gadget vulnerability. Joshua J. Drake of iDefense Labs reported the Windows Vista Feed Headlines Gadget vulnerability.
