Description:   An access control vulnerability was reported in mail(1) on Sun's Solaris operating system. A local user may be able to read e-mail belonging to other users.

Sun reported that an access control flaw in 'printmail.c' may allow a local user with access to a mail server to read the e-mail of other users.

No further details were provided.

Impact:   A local user may be able to read the e-mail of another local user.
Solution:   Sun has released the following patches:

Sun issued an alert (50751) reproting a security vulnerability in mail(1) on Sun's Solaris operating
system.

A local user with access to a mail server may be able to read the e-mail of other users.  This is
reportedly due to an access control flaw in 'printmail.c'.

No further details were provided.

Solaris 2.6, 7, 8, and 9 are affected.

Sun reports that Solaris 2.5.1 will not be evaluated to determine if it is affected.
