Description:   A vulnerability was reported in VMware Workstation Pro/Player. A local user on the host system can obtain root privileges on the host system.

A local user on the host system can exploit an insecure library loading flaw in the ALSA sound driver configuration files to gain root privileges on the host system.

Jann Horn of Google Project Zero reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user on the host system can obtain root privileges on the host system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (12.5.6).
