Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in nginx. A remote user can consume excessive resources on the target system. A remote user can cause the target service to crash.

A remote user can forge and send specially crafted UDP packets to trigger an invalid pointer dereference and cause the target worker process to crash [CVE-2016-0742].

A remote user can cause the target system to perform CNAME name resolution to trigger a use-after-free memory error and cause the target worker process to crash [CVE-2016-0746]. Other unspecified impacts may occur.

A remote user can cause the target system to perform arbitrary CNAME name resolution to consume excessive resources on the target system [CVE-2016-0747].

Impact:   A remote user can consume excessive resources on the target system.

A remote user can cause the target worker process to crash.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (1.8.1, 1.9.10).
