Description:   Some vulnerabilities were reported in NVIDIA Drivers. A local user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system. A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

The NVAPI support layer of NVIDIA GPU graphics drivers does not properly validate user-supplied input. In addition, an integer overflow may occur in the kernel mode driver. A local user can exploit these vulnerabilities to potentially sensitive information, deny service, or execute arbitrary code on the target system with elevated privileges.

Axel Monroy and Nikita Tarakanov of Intel reported these vulnerabilities.

Impact:   A local user can cause denial of service conditions on the target system.

A local user can obtain potentially sensitive information on the target system.

A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (304.131, 340.96, 352.63, 358.16 for Linux; 341.92, 354.35, 358.87 for Windows).

Ubuntu has issued a fix for Ubuntu Linux 12.04 LTS, 14.04 LTS, 15.04, and 15.10.
