Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in MantisBT. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks. A remote user can inject SQL commands. A remote user bypass security features.

The 'install.php' script does not properly filter HTML code from user-supplied input before displaying the input [CVE-2014-9571]. A remote user can create a specially crafted URL that, when loaded by a target user, will cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code will originate from the site running the MantisBT software and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

The 'manage_user_page.php' script does not properly validate user-supplied input [CVE-2014-9573]. A remote user can supply a specially crafted parameter value to execute SQL commands on the underlying database.

A remote user can access the installation script (install.php) and obtain the database access credentials that are stored in plain text in hidden form fields [CVE-2014-9572].

High-Tech Bridge Security Research Lab reported the above listed vulnerabilities.

The original advisory for the above listed vulnerabilities is available at:

A remote user can bypass the CAPTCHA [CVE-2014-9624].

A remote user can create a specially crafted URL that, when loaded by the target user, will exploit a regex error cause the target user's browser to be redirected to an arbitrary web site [CVE-2015-1042].

Impact:   A remote user can access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site running the MantisBT software, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

A remote user can execute SQL commands on the underlying database.

A remote user bypass security features.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (1.2.19).
