Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xen. A local user on the guest operating system can access files on the host system in certain cases.

qemu-nbd-xen does not properly detect disk image formats. A local administrative user on the guest operating system can write a specially crafted header to a raw image and then restart the system to cause qemu-nbd to incorrectly determine the format of the image and potentially allow access to arbitrary files on the host system.

Systems using qemu-nbd are affected.

Impact:   A local user on the guest operating system can access files on the host system in certain cases.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (xsa48-4.2.patch).
