Description:
A vulnerability was reported in Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery and Symantec System Recovery. A user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A user can create a specially crafted 'imapi.dll' DLL file in the Granular Restore Option directory or the Recovery Point Browser directory. When a specifically formatted file file is loaded by the target user, the application may load a remote DLL instead of the intended DLL and execute arbitrary code. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
This type of exploit is also known as "binary planting" or "DLL preloading".

For Backup Exec System Recovery 2010: Upgrade to Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 SP5
