SecurityTracker Alert ID:  1027134
SecurityTracker URL:  http://securitytracker.com/id/1027134
CVE Reference:   GENERIC-MAP-NOMATCH   (Links to External Site)
Date:  Jun 7 2012
Impact:   Disclosure of authentication information, Disclosure of user information, Execution of arbitrary code via network, Modification of user information, Not specified
Fix Available:  Yes  Vendor Confirmed:  Yes
Version(s): Sensor Events 7.0
Description:   Several vulnerabilities were reported in IBM WebSphere Sensor Events. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks. The impact of other vulnerabilities was not specified.

Several scripts do not properly filter HTML code from user-supplied input before displaying the input. A remote user can cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code will originate from the site running the IBM WebSphere software and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

The 'deferredView.jsp' script in 'searchView.jsp' is affected. Another unspecified component is also affected.

A file path traversal flaw exists. The impact was not specified.

The system uses insecure HTTP methods. The impact was not specified.

Impact:   A remote user can access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site running the IBM WebSphere software, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.

The impact of the other vulnerabilities was not specified.

Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix (Interim fixes IC83621 and IC83623).

The vendor's advisory is available at:
