Description:
Multiple vulnerabilities were reported in Mozilla Seamonkey. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks. A remote user can spoof certain web sites. A remote user can obtain potentially sensitive information.
A remote user can create a specially crafted file that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a memory corruption, use-after-free, invalid free error, memory read error, or image rendering flaw and execute arbitrary code on the target system [CVE-2012-0467, CVE-2012-0468, CVE-2012-0469, CVE-2012-0470, CVE-2012-0472, CVE-2012-0473, CVE-2012-0478]. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
A multi-octet encoding issue may destroy following octets in the processing of some multibyte character sets [CVE-2012-0471]. A remote user can cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code will originate from a target site and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.
A remote user can cause a page to load but display a different address in the address bar and then execute arbitrary scripting code in the context of the target site [CVE-2012-0474].
The software does not properly decode ISO-2022-KR and ISO-2022-CN character sets and may allow cross-site scripting attacks [CVE-2012-0477].
A remote user, when using IPv6, can cause the browser to send ambiguous origin headers in certain cases and bypass origin access controls [CVE-2012-0475].
A remote user can trigger a javascript error handling flaw to obtain the file names and location of javascript files on a target server [CVE-2011-1187].
A remote user can spoof the identity of a target secure web server hosting Atom/RSS content [CVE-2012-0479].
Bob Clary, Christian Holler, Brian Hackett, Bobby Holley, Gary Kwong, Hilary Hall, Honza Bambas, Jesse Ruderman, Julian Seward, Olli Pettay, Aki Helin, Atte Kettunen, Anne van Kesteren of Opera Software, wushi of team509 (via iDefense), Matias Juntunen, Jordi Chancel, Eddy Bordi, Chris McGowen, Simone Fabiano, Masato Kinugawa, Ms2ger, Daniel Divricean, and Jeroen van der Gun reported these vulnerabilities.
