Description:
A vulnerability was reported in Adobe Acrobat/Reader. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A remote user can create a specially crafted PDF file that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a memory corruption error and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
The vulnerability is being actively exploited against Adobe Reader 9.x on Windows.
The vendor reports that Adobe Reader X Protected Mode and Acrobat X Protected View prevent the code from executing.
Lockheed Martin CIRT and members of the Defense Security Information Exchange reported this vulnerability.

Impact:
A remote user can create a file that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.

Solution:
The vendor has issued a fix (9.4.7 for Windows and UNIX, 10.1.2 for Windows and Mac).
