Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Xpdf. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted PDF file that, when loaded by the target user or application, will trigger an uninitialized pointer dereference in Gfx::getPos() and potentially execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user or application.

Poppler is also affected.

CUPS is also affected.

Sauli Pahlman of CERT-FI reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can create a file that, when loaded by the target user or application, will execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   No upstream solution was available at the time of this entry.
