Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted document that supports Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a flaw in 'VBE6.DLL' and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.

The vulnerability is caused by the code that Visual Basic for Applications uses to search for ActiveX controls in a document that supports VBA.

Documents that support VBA include Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, and other third party formats.

Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications SDK is also affected.

NSFocus Security Team reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can create a file that, when loaded by the target user, will execute arbitrary code on the target user's system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix.
