Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Symantec Data Loss Prevention. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target system.

A remote user can create a specially crafted OLE document that, when processed by the target application, will trigger an integer overflow in the Autonomy KeyView Filter component and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target application.

The following versions are affected:

Symantec Data Loss Prevention Enforce/Detection Servers 7.2
Symantec Data Loss Prevention Enforce/Detection Servers for Windows 8.1.1, 9.x, and 10.0
Symantec Data Loss Prevention Enforce/Detection Servers for Linux 8.1.1, 9.x, and 10.0
Symantec Data Loss Prevention Endpoint Agents 8.1.1, 9.x, and 10.0

Symantec Data Loss Prevention Endpoint Agents 7.x are not affected.

The vendor was notified on September 28, 2009.

Impact:   A remote user can create a file that, when processed by the target application, will execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fix. A patch matrix is available in the vendor's advisory.
