Description:
Several vulnerabilities were reported in Microsoft Windows. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.
The Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) provider does not properly isolate processes that run under the NetworkService or LocalService accounts [CVE-2009-0078]. A local user with NetworkService or LocalService account privileges can probe the WMI provider host processes to identify SYSTEM tokens and then exploit the SYSTEM token to execute arbitrary code with SYSTEM privileges.
The RPCSS service does not properly isolate processes that run under the NetworkService or LocalService accounts [CVE-009-0079]. A local user with SeImpersonatePrivilege privileges may be able to obtain elevated privileges.
Windows applies incorrect access control lists (ACLs) on threads in the current ThreadPool [CVE-2009-0080]. A local user may be able to obtain elevated privileges.
Cesar Cerrudo of Argeniss reported these vulnerabilities.
