Description:   A vulnerability was reported in Sun xVM VirtualBox. A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.

A local user can create a symbolic link (symlink) from a file on the system to a temporary file ('/tmp/.vbox-$USER-ipc/lock') used by VirtualBox. When the temporary file is created, the symlinked file will be created or overwritten with the privileges of the user running the VirtualBox.

Debian reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A local user can obtain elevated privileges on the target system.
