Description:
Several vulnerabilities were reported in Microsoft Internet Explorer. A remote user can cause arbitrary code to be executed on the target user's system.
A remote user can create a specially crafted file that, when loaded by the target user, will trigger a buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target user.
Specially crafted navigation method calls can trigger memory corruption [CVE-2008-4258]
Specially crafted HTML objects can access uninitialized memory and trigger memory corruption [CVE-2008-4259].
Specially crafted HTML that accesses deleted objects can trigger memory corruption [CVE-2008-4260].
The rendering of embedded objects can trigger memory corruption [CVE-2008-4261].
Carlo Di Dato (aka shinnai), Brett Moore, working with TippingPoint, Chris Weber of Casaba Security, and Jun Mao of Verisign iDefense Labs reported these vulnerabilities.
