Description:   A vulnerability was reported in the Sun Solaris DHCP daemon. A remote user can cause denial of service conditions.

A remote user can send specially crafted DHCP request data to cause the target DHCP service (in.dhcpd(1M)) to crash. The daemon will exit with an "Assertion failed" error message.

Impact:   A remote user can cause the DHCP daemon to crash.
Solution:   The vendor has issued the following fixes:

SPARC Platform

* Solaris 8 with patch 109077-21 or later
* Solaris 9 with patch 112837-16 or later
* Solaris 10 with patch 138876-01 or later
* OpenSolaris based upon builds snv_103 or later

x86 Platform

* Solaris 8 with patch 109078-21 or later
* Solaris 9 with patch 114265-15 or later
* Solaris 10 with patch 138877-01 or later
* OpenSolaris based upon builds snv_103 or later
