Description:   A vulnerability was reported in CUPS (Common UNIX Printing System). A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.

A remote user can send specially crafted IPP tags to trigger a buffer overflow in ippReadIO() and execute arbitrary code on the target system. The code will run with the privileges of the target service.

The "textWithLanguage" and "nameWithLanguage" tags are affected.

The vulnerability resides in 'cups/ipp.c'.

Alin Rad Pop of the Secunia Research reported this vulnerability.

Impact:   A remote user can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Solution:   The vendor has issued a fixed version (1.3.4).
