|
Exploit Included: Yes
|
Version(s): 1.x

Description:
Several flaws were reported in SurgeLDAP. A remote user can cause the server to crash. A remote user can conduct cross-site scripting attacks and can also determine the installation path. A local user can view passwords.
Secunia reported that a remote user can supply a long HTTP GET request URL to the target server to cause the server to crash.
It is also reported that the server stores user passwords in clear text in the 'surgeldap\user.dat'.
It is also reported that a remote user can request a non-existent file to cause the server to display the installation path.
It is also reported that the 'user.cgi' script does not filter HTML code from user-supplied input in the 'cmd' parameter. A remote user can create a specially crafted URL that, when loaded by a target user, will cause arbitrary scripting code to be executed by the target user's browser. The code will originate from the site running the SurgeLDAP software and will run in the security context of that site. As a result, the code will be able to access the target user's cookies (including authentication cookies), if any, associated with the site, access data recently submitted by the target user via web form to the site, or take actions on the site acting as the target user.
Ziv Kamir is credited with reporting this flaw.
